Innovators, Analysts, and Leaders: Welcome
The Peter Callais Institute for Business Analytics is where data meets purpose. Guided by Jesuit values, we bring together students, professionals, and industry partners to cultivate ethical leaders who will advance business, strengthen communities, and shape a better future.
Our Mission
The Peter Callais Institute for Business Analytics at Loyola University New Orleans is committed to honoring Peter Callais’ legacy of leadership, innovation, and service. We educate and empower students, professionals, and organizations through rigorous analytics training, interdisciplinary collaboration, and industry partnerships. Guided by Jesuit values, we cultivate ethical, innovative, and socially responsible leaders who use the power of data to advance business, strengthen communities, and inspire positive change. Our vision also includes being a nationally recognized hub for ethical and impactful business analytics education and research — shaping future leaders who harness data to drive innovation, foster inclusion, and create transformative solutions for business and society.
Who we are
In 2025, the Callais Family established the Peter Callais Institute for Business Analytics to honor the memory of Peter Callais, a devoted leader, entrepreneur, and family man. A native of Golden Meadow and a resident of Cut Off, Louisiana, Peter graduated from Tulane’s Freeman School of Business in 1986 and served as CEO of Abdon Callais Offshore, guiding the company to national recognition. Beyond business, he was deeply committed to his faith and community, teaching Religion in Golden Meadow, serving as a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, and holding leadership roles in various organizations, including Community Bank and SWDI. His contributions earned him numerous accolades, including Louisiana’s Small Business Person of the Year and Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. An avid outdoorsman, Peter loved scuba diving, hunting, and fishing. His legacy of innovation, service, and passion lives on through the institute, inspiring future generations.
